The Beginning of wisdom.

Proverbs 4:6-7

Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you;
    love her, and she will watch over you.
The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom.
    Though it cost all you have, get understanding.

Reflection

Reading your Bible is a step of wisdom. It is acknowledging that you don’t have all the answers. You need God’s help, you need to read the instruction manual. I am one of those people who hates reading the instruction manual, I just jump in and hope for the best – then end up resigning to the fact that I can’t do this on my own and I need help. That is the same with our lives, some of us try and do it on our own and it isn’t until we are completely lost that we resign to reading the instruction manual and map for life – our Word. So don’t wait, don’t forsake wisdom any longer. The Word of God will protect you, so start loving it today! The beginning of wisdom is to get wisdom – so jump into the wisdom of the Word of God now!

Prayer

Lord, we have tried doing this life on our own, thank you for providing us with an instructional manual to help us. Let us have a fresh conviction in our heart to seek guidance and wisdom from its every word. You are wisdom and in the Bible we encounter You. Proverbs tells us ‘The beginning of wisdom is to fear God’, so today, we honour You and seek our wisdom from You alone.
