DAY 12 - NOTHING SEPARATES US FROM HIM

Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I remember when I was young, I was so scared that my failures, my sins or my bad habits would keep me from God’s love. Every time I did something wrong, I would self-punish and not pray for weeks or spend time with God because God would be angry with me for sinning or getting angry. Until I read this verse and it changed the way I behaved. We need to be convinced that nothing will ever separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Nothing separates you from His love. Mistakes don’t change his love for you – so stop trying to be perfect! Demons don’t change that, so don’t be fearful of them! Nothing in creation can separate you from his love! 

Know that he is so in love with you, every day he is so in love with you. Nothing stops him from loving you! The world tries to convince us that we are unlovable, but nothing will separate you from Him! Your works don’t make him love you – he loved you before you were formed. Remember God’s love is not human, it’s not fickle, it’s not easily broken. God’s love for us is like it says in 1 Corinthians 13 – it is patient, kind, doesn’t envy, it doesn’t boast, it’s not proud, not easily angered, keeps no records of wrong and that is only the beginning. Today as you meditate on this verse, know that his love is beyond human love and will not be separated from you!
