John 21:25 Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.

Reflection

This verse frustrates and inspires me. It frustrates me, that we don’t have all the stories of what Jesus did here on earth. I can’t wait to get to heaven and sit down with John and the Apostles and find out all the things that Jesus did that were not written down. 

This verse also inspires me to honour and read the books that we do have; to read the stories that were written down! What a privilege it is that we have these books to learn what Jesus did while he was here on earth, we get to read our family history in the Old Testament, we can feel part of the early Church story as we read how it was formed in Acts and we get to be inspired and changed by the lives found in these incredible books.

Thank you so much Father for your Word! Thank you so much for the honour of being able to read these books to learn more about you, your Son, your mission and the Kingdom. Thank you that you have given us these books to guide, instruct and inspire us into all you have called us to be.
