Day 5: Establish Your Identity.

Establish your identity.

Ephesians 1:3-5 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realm with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.

Reflection

The Bible should be the loudest voice that speaks and forms our identity not our friends, not Instagram, not social media. Who you are and your purpose in life is found in one person: Jesus Christ. One way that He reveals it to us is through His Word. So, as you read Ephesians Chapters 1-5, notice how Paul establishes what you are before he establishes what you are called to do (Chapter 6). Did you notice in the above verse what it says about your identity? It says you are blessed in the heavenly realm with every spiritual blessing. You are chosen before you were born, you are holy, you are blameless. As you study the Word and the declarations of who you are in Him, it will give you strength to stand against the lies of the enemy, it will be your truth in prayer, it will change your thoughts about yourself and it will establish your identity in Him alone.

Prayer

Thank you Lord Jesus that our identity is found in you alone. We are not to form our identity from what we see on social media or magazines but in the Word of God. I pray that as we read the Word we will know all that you have won for us on the cross, all you have established in us and given us to live out our lives.
