Day 7: It's a Balancing Act.
It’s a balancing act.
John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only true Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Reflection
Jesus came to earth with two seemingly opposing traits in fullness: grace and truth. Grace is fluid, grace to one person is different to another, it’s interpreted like poetry. Truth is unwavering, solid, it’s strong and doesn’t change. Truth is like math. Jesus encompassed both grace and truth in fullness, and we are called to do the same.
If you need balance in your emotions, balance in your thinking and balance in your life, the Bible will bring this to you. You encounter Jesus when you read the Word, He is the Word (John 1:1) and therefore you encounter the fullness of grace and truth when you read the Bible. If you are naturally a mathematical person, it will help you be poetry, if you are naturally fearful it will bring courage, if you are naturally judgmental it will bring grace, if you are naturally inconsistent it will inspire consistency.
Question
What part of your life needs balance today? What scriptures can you stand on to help bring that balance?
Prayer
Bring balance to my life today, Lord, as I read my Bible. Bring balance to my emotions, heart and thinking. Help me to be more like you, able to encompass both grace and truth in fullness. Let me be strong and abundant to myself and others in grace without denying the principles of truth in your Word.
