How to Read the Bible For All It's Worth
| Gordon Fee & Douglas Stuart
A practical approach to Bible study in an easy-to-understand style
If you’ve never tried to read the bible, or you have and you feel like screaming, “This Mountain cannot be scaled!” This book is for you. Fee and Stuart write artfully and with an unmatched expertise The main thrust of the book is Hermeneutics (the art and science of interpretation), and is essential for those wishing to gain insight into any significantly complex text. A quote from within the pages is “The Bible was written for everyone but it was not written to everyone” essentially saying that it takes a little help for us to understand and distil all that we can from the Word of God. I will say that some sections and issues within the book carry a slight scent of elitism, however, this is only when addressing issues of controversy, and I would not allow that to deter you from the nuggets of gold that lay within the pages of this book.
