Commercials aren’t the most reliable things to gain wisdom from but when you are forming a new habit, this one is right! It won’t happen overnight but as you keep going, it will happen!
Welcome to our TYB Renewing the Mind Series, this is a 14-day Bible study focusing on changing the way you think about yourself and your life. Now this is not a devotional because it has to be more than just a motivational message. It takes action on your part. You are going to need to meditate on these scriptures every day – fill your mind with them, repeat them over and over again. And not just so you are able to quote them, but so you begin to believe them. You need to believe them about yourself, no matter what you see, no matter what you feel, no matter what your circumstances tell you, believe the Word of Truth for the next 14 days and watch as God renews your mind, establishes your identity in Him and changes your life.
Romans 12:2 (NLT) Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
I love this verse in the New Living Translation because we all need to change who we are copying. I love how it says ‘Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world but…’. There are some things that you believe about yourself just because you have always thought that way. You copied the behaviour and customs of this world; maybe you saw on Instagram that you are not as thin as other people, so you thought you were fat. Or you read in a magazine or newspaper that bad things happen when you run in the park, and now you are terrified to run. We have to change our thinking to change our actions. Are you ready to begin? Let’s journey for 14 days together as we change our mind about ourselves, our situations, our marriages, our jobs and learn to know God’s will!
