Romans Dip - Day 4
DAY 4 - BENEFITS OF SALVATION
Romans 5:1-5 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
But wait, there’s more – Paul, after presenting the gospel message that we are all in need of salvation and all saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, now gives us the ‘steak knives’ with our deal! Not only are we saved but we have so many benefits with our salvation: peace with God, access to God, the hope of glory of God, and even suffering within this life produces hope.
How incredible is this? After presenting us with eternal life and freedom from sin, Paul shows that Jesus’ death on the cross was so much more. To have peace with God is incredible. Remember the feeling when you were first saved, and you felt the ‘smile’ of Heaven over you for the first time? The first time you felt your heavenly Father’s approval? When you discovered you have access to the God of the universe, the ability to stand in His presence with boldness and peace not condemnation and death? That is what Jesus did for us, and more! We don’t stay at the door of salvation but we walk boldly into all the promises that God has for us through the victory of the cross. Keep reading Romans to find out the more: freedom from sin, freedom from works, empowered by the Spirit!
