DAY 6 - NOW IT’S TIME FOR ACTION

Romans 12:1-8 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Even in this short 7-day study, can you feel the journey that Paul is taking you on as you read through Romans? He is walking you through the gospel! And now he has told you where you were (under the power of sin) what you have (saved by grace and faith in Jesus), the benefits (peace and access to God) where you are now (no condemnation, set free from sin), Paul finishes his letter with the do something with it chapters. Paul is passionate for you not to stay in one place: saved, set free and content in God – he wants you to take action! Paul explains how to live as a living sacrifice, not conforming to the world around us but transforming and renewing our mind so we can be transformers of our world.

Did you notice the motivation of the ‘doing’ section? We do this with a heart of worship – our true and proper worship does not just happen in our services on Sunday, but when we take what we have into our communities and love people, serve people, pray for our government and share the good news.
