I don't know what to do!

2 Chronicles 20:15-17 Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow march down against them. They will be climbing up by the Pass of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the gorge in the Desert of Jeruel. You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.

This is such an incredible prophecy from Jahaziel to a people in distress, and I encourage you to read the whole chapter. The people are terrified, they have heard that the enemy is coming to overtake them, and they are crying out to God as one, the whole community, their kids, little ones crying out to God for help. What hit me first when I read this chapter was that their first instinct was to seek God for help. How great is that? When things go wrong, set a ‘default’ in your mind that you will go to God first for help. Not your friends, not your relatives, but go straight into prayer. That is how we get the ‘best’ answer to the problem, not the ‘guess’ answer.

Then, as they cry out to God, this prayer comes from their mouths:

2 Chronicles 20:12 For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You.

Maybe right now, you don’t how you are going to get a job, save your marriage, pay the bills, buy groceries, survive another day – but God does. Let this scripture be the cry of your heart. We may not know what to do, but our eyes are on You! Not on my circumstances, not on my enemy, my issues but my eyes are on You, Lord!

Then we hit the incredible prophecy. I get so encouraged by this Word, and right now I am standing on this for my family, for my business, for my bills and for the bad circumstances that are surrounding me. Don’t be intimidated by the enemy or by what you have heard, take up your position of prayer against him, stand firm. Don’t be afraid, don’t be discouraged, go out and face him. It’s time to take your stand and take your ground again. This is not knowing how to fight a war or being strong enough in yourself. This is about trusting in your God, having confidence in Him, that He is going to defeat the enemy, all we need to do is get out there and stand! He wants you standing, watching so you can walk in and claim the victory.

Read the rest of this chapter and what God does for His people. Know that as you rebuke discouragement, fear and stand up God will fight for you! The Lord is with you!
